Starling Workshop Tour Video

Behind the Scenes at the Starling Cycles workshop

We get a fair few requests for visitors to the workshop. People often wonder what our setup is like and either think we’re tiny or a lot bigger than we really are.

The Starling Cycles workshop is where we manufacture almost all of our bikes, and where everything is assembled and shipped from. Our swing arms are made elsewhere and our stainless stuff is made in Asia – but all of our full-suspension front triangles, and almost all of our Rare bikes are made in-house, here in Bristol.

We have a small office for sales, marketing and admin and then the rest of the unit is set up for storage, manufacturing or assembling bikes.

There’s an area for the dirty stuff, such as tube mitring and a larger area for jigs, brazing and alignment. We also have various machines, such as a lathe or milling machine. Upstairs we have a small area for frame prep and assembly, where graphics and hardware are applied and components turn into frames. We also have some space for storage of demo bikes, packaging, spares and the various bits and bobs we need. Oh, and there’s a mini snooker table, because why not?

Hopefully the video is interesting for you all and it’ll give you a little insight into what a bicycle frame manufacturing workshop looks like.

Come see us in person next time you’re in Bristol!
