The original Starling. Built to go flat out between the tape or at the bike park.
The Starling Cycles Swoop combines 27.5″ wheels with 130mm/160mm rear travel and our award-winning steel frameset.
It’s built for raw speed and bags of fun whilst still maintaining that nimble, easy-to-ride feel of 27.5″ wheels.
It’s the perfect choice for privateer racers and bike-park lappers or simply anyone that wants an ass-hauling steel bike that’s built around 27.5″ wheels.
And now, for Autumn 2022 and beyond, introducing V3 of the Starling Cycles Swoop.
V3 brings a whole heap of subtle but significant updates. We’ve combined ‘Enduro’ and ‘Trail’ models with a simple solution to combine both options into one frame, using an adjustable shock mount. The seat angle has been steepened for a better pedaling position and we’ve raised the BB a touch to add manoeuvrability.
We also now have an aluminium insert in the seat tube to stop seized posts, a stronger anti-flare headtube, a better-looking asymmetrical headtube gusset and we’ve moved the main pivot to the swing arm for a wider interface. Last but not least, we have a new cast main pivot part, which is neater and stronger than ever.
Starling Cycles are made by real flesh-and-blood humans. The perfect blend of precision and passion.
Our frames are hand-crafted with quality, lightweight steel for an unmistakable feel and undeniable speed.
Our single-pivot suspension design eliminates complexity. A blast to ride and a breeze to maintain.
Trail Mode
27.5″ wheels, 130mm rear travel using a 210x55mm shock and ideally suited to a 140mm fork.
In Trail mode, the Swoop is built to go anywhere and ride anything whilst putting the emphasis a little more on big grins than raw speed. From your favourite trail centre to a local enduro race to those big days in the hills the Trail will fly through it all.
That unmistakable ‘feeling’ of steel, the easy-to-ride nature of 27.5″, short travel and perfect geometry make this a hell of a bike.
It’ll haul ass through rough, nasty terrain but remains lively and responsive to see you racing back up for another run (and another, and another).
Switch Trail to Enduro mode: Murmur, Twist and Swoop frames are now built to fit 210mm and 230mm shocks using an adjustable shock mount, allowing Trail and Enduro modes on a single frame. No need to change your frame to go up or down travel, simply swap your shock position and switch fork/shock to suit.

Previously known as Starling Cycles, Puffin Pedallers was born out of a commitment to the hard yards of mountain biking. No assistance, no engines, no driver-assist style technology. Just a rider, a bike and the mountain.
When you’re puffin’ on a Puffin no one will be in any doubt that you’re working hard and earning those descents.
Our new website is coming soon. In the meantime, please continue to use the existing Starling Cycles website.
